History of the Super Bantamweight Division
Super Bantamweight (Junior Featherweight) was created by the WBC in 1976 and quickly became one of the most competitive weight classes.
The division produced legendary action fights between Wilfredo Gómez, Lupe Pintor and Jeff Fenech in the 1980s.
Naoya Inoue became undisputed super bantamweight champion in 2023, knocking out Stephen Fulton and Marlon Tapales in succession.
Weight Cut Tips for Super Bantamweight
Most pros walk at 130–134; water-loading 5 days out followed by a controlled cut works well.
